My major in college was accounts, so that was the field I tried when I first ventured into the working world. However, I soon realized that the 9-5 humdrum was not my forte.
It was while pondering my next move that an ad in the newspaper grabbed my attention. A photographic firm which was contracted to Sandals Resorts were seeking person's to train as Hotel Photographers. I applied for the training, out of curiosity, and it was "love at first click".
I spent 16 years with that company doing weddings and various functions at Sandals Resort, Jamaica Grande, and many other properties all over Jamaica.
Then 4 years training Photographers for the resorts. Some of whom I am immensely proud of, for their achievements. Some are working with Cruise lines while others are in the hotel industry.
After the company went out of business some years ago I decided to do freelance photography, and I am loving every minute of it. I especially like when someone who is normally camera shy start loving the camera because of me. I have had a few of those. The hotel industry afforded me a legacy that I will not soon forget. I believe that I have done every genre of wedding including, Japanese, African, Jewish, Scottish. As I get more open to the world of knowledge, numerology thought me that I am a maverick by birth and name, thus Photography is my ideal job. It keeps me moving.
